Orange broadband activation times: tracking and checks

The activation time depends on the request. Orange gives an average of three to six working days for a new Fibre service and around 15 days for a new ADSL service. An existing customer changing only their plan may see the new configuration applied almost immediately after restarting the Livebox. There is no universal 24- or 48-hour period for every Orange connection.

Track activation without repeated resets

Orange notifies the customer by SMS or email when the service is active. Until that message arrives, use the order tracker to see the current stage and any action requested.

Once activation is confirmed, connect or restart the Livebox as instructed for that model. On a Livebox 6 or 7, a steady orange light confirms the connection. A different light means that setup is incomplete or another check is required.

Avoid repeatedly resetting the router. A factory reset removes settings and cannot speed up a network-side connection that is still in progress.

Manual activation on Livebox 6

During a first installation or a hardware exchange, Livebox 6 tries to establish the connection. If no activation SMS arrives within five minutes of installation, Orange provides a manual activation procedure using the connection credentials supplied with the subscription.

This procedure addresses an installation problem after the router is connected. It cannot accelerate a line that has not yet been activated on the network.

When to contact Orange

Contact support if the date shown in the tracker has passed, a stage remains blocked, or the status light does not confirm the connection after the activation message and the required setup. Have the order number and Livebox model ready.

In brief

Allow an average of three to six working days for a new Fibre service and around 15 days for ADSL. A change to an existing service is normally much faster. The order tracker, activation message and Livebox status provide more reliable information than a generic timeline found elsewhere.
