Promo codes and cashback do not work in the same way

The Wanteeed home page presents examples of promotions and rates that may expire. They are not reproduced here as current offers. The only check that matters for a purchase is what is displayed at the basket stage and in the Wanteeed account.

Test Wanteeed without distorting the price

First prepare the basket without the extension and note its total, including delivery. Then activate Wanteeed and let the tool test the codes. Only count the discount that the retailer actually accepts. A message stating that a code has been tried does not prove that it reduced the price.

If several codes work, compare the final total rather than the code's face value. A fixed-amount discount with a minimum spend may be less attractive than a promotion already applied. Do not add a product to reach a threshold without including that product in the cost of obtaining the saving.

For cashback, check that the retailer is a partner, that the category and country are eligible and that the required journey has been followed. After the purchase, look for a tracking status in the account. Cashback remains conditional until the retailer has validated it.

Codes, extensions and cashback attribution

A coupon extension can alter the attribution journey for cashback activated elsewhere. If you start from another platform, opening or activating a competing extension may make tracking ambiguous. Choose a single cashback provider for the order and follow its instructions.

Similarly, a code found on another website may be excluded. Only use a code that the cashback terms explicitly permit. If combining offers is not documented, calculate using the immediate benefit and treat the cashback as unconfirmed.

The 20-euro threshold applies to the withdrawal request announced by Wanteeed, not to the validation of each purchase. Distinguish between detected, pending and validated cashback, cashback available in the balance and cashback actually withdrawn. These statuses correspond to different stages.

Privacy and installation

An extension operates on retailer pages to test codes or activate an offer. Before installing it, review the permissions shown by the browser's extension store and the service's terms. Disable or remove the extension if you no longer use it, then review the extensions that remain.

Never enter your banking credentials or passwords in a window that does not belong to the retailer or expected payment provider. The presence of a Wanteeed logo is not sufficient proof: check the domain and the retailer's order summary.

Mistakes to avoid

• Reusing an old code or rate displayed on a promotional page.
• Counting cashback before it has been validated.
• Using several cashback extensions on the same order.
• Adding a code that is not permitted by the cashback terms.
• Buying more to reach the withdrawal threshold.
• Confusing 20 euros of available balance with 20 euros of tracked purchases.
• Assuming that an offer seen in another country applies to the French customer journey.

What to do if cashback is missing

Keep the date, retailer, amount, order confirmation and any available proof of activation. First check the stated time frame and exclusions, then contact support through the official channel. Only provide the necessary information and obscure any payment details that were not requested.

Decide whether the extension is useful to you

For one month, record the number of baskets where a code actually reduced the total, the cashback validated and the time spent on checks. Compare this result with the permissions granted and the purchases you would have made without the extension. If Wanteeed provides no useful discount, causes tracking conflicts or pushes you towards unplanned purchases, disable it. If the tool regularly reduces the cost of a basket you had already decided to buy, keep it while carrying out the same checks. This decision should be based on your verified history, not on the number of codes tested or on displayed potential savings.

Factual verdict

Wanteeed is useful if the accepted code genuinely reduces the price or if eligible cashback is correctly tracked. There is no point in adding a product, changing retailer or spending more solely to obtain a reward.
